An improved Ant Colony Algorithm for Optimal Winner Determination Problem in Reverse Combinatorial Auction

چکیده
Reverse Combinatorial auctions, that is, auctions where bidders can bid on the supply right of combinations of items, tend to lead to more efficient allocations than traditional auction mechanisms in multi-item auctions where the agents' valuations of the items are not additive. A common model is formulated for optimal the winner determination problem of reverse combinatorial auction. A PRIM (Preprocessing Rules-Based Improved MMAS) algorithm is adopted for the problem. Three preprocessing rules was proved to be feasibility. By applying two of the preprocessing rules before serching begins, noncompetitive bids can be removed efficiently and the bid scale was decreased. By using the other preprocessing rule in every round of serch, unnecessary trials will be avoid early. Simulation results show that the PRIM algorithm achieves good performance than MMAS in different size problems. Meanwhile PRIM performs more steadly than MMAS as the number of bidders increase. Winner Determination in Combinatorial Auctions using Hybrid Ant Colony Optimization and Multi-Neighborhood Local Search
A combinatorial auction is an auction where the bidders have the choice to bid on bundles of items. The WDP in combinatorial auctions is the problem of finding winning bids that maximize the auctioneer’s revenue under the constraint that each item can be allocated to at most one bidder. The WDP is known as an NP-hard problem with practical applications like electronic commerce, production manag...
متن کاملSelecting Efficient Service-providers in Electric Power Distribution Industry Using Combinatorial Reverse Auction
In this paper, a combinatorial reverse auction mechanism is proposed for selecting the most efficient service-providers for resolving sustained power interruptions in multiple regions of an electric power distribution company’s responsibility area. Through this mechanism, supplying the required service in each region is assigned to only one potential service-provider considering two criteria in...

متن کاملOptimal Distributed Generation (DG) Allocation in Distribution Networks using an Improved Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm
Abstract: The development of distributed generation (DGs) units in recent years have created challenges in the operation of power grids, especially distribution networks. One of these issues is the optimal allocation (location and capacity) of these units in distribution networks. In this thesis, a method based on the improved ant colony optimization algorithm is presented to solve the problem ...
